Digital Ways
GOLDENRADIO integrates several digital decoders directly into the radio. By pressing
on the main page (only available on HF amateur radio bands) you access the Digital Modes page, with all the digital modes supported by the radio.

FT2, FT4, FT8
They are ways designed to receive very weak signals. They use cycles of different lengths, from the rapidity of FT2 and FT4 to the 15 second periods of FT8, and show the decoded messages, names and available information on the display.

The OPEN MAP button, at the top left of the FT8/FT4/FT2 decoder, opens the locator map: your dot (in red, with your locator) and that of each decoded station, colored according to the last message received — cyan for CQ, yellow for a QSO in progress, green for 73 (end of contact). By touching a dot the panel appears with the name, country, locator, distance and direction of the station. Below the map, touching the message area switches from LIVE to LOG view; the X returns to the decoder.
At the bottom left of the map there is also a sun or moon icon: touching it turns on or off the darkening of the side of the Earth where it is night, the so-called gray line. We talk about it in detail in the chapter Map Locator FTx.

CW
The CW decoder transforms the received Morse code into text. The audio spectrum facilitates the centering of the signal, while touch and encoder allow you to precisely choose the frequency to decode.

RTTY
The RTTY decoder receives radio teletype transmissions and displays the text in real time. The different presets allow you to adapt speed and tone separation to the type of station listened to.

SSTV
SSTV (Slow Scan Television) transmits photographs and images via a regular radio channel. GoldenRadio recognizes the main SSTV modes and progressively builds the image received on the display.

On models with large displays, such as ULTRA and MEGA.

On models with small display: test pattern in reception and decoded image.
WEFAX
WEFAX allows you to receive maps and weather reports via shortwave. The decoder follows the radiofax sequence and composes the map line by line directly on the screen.

Others in development

JS8, NAVTEX, HELL, PSK31 and PSK63 are already visible on the Digital Modes page but not yet available: they will be activated in a future update.
